CBT-tourism (Community Based Tourism - tourism, based on communities) - one of the sectors of the tourism industry, which is focused on the use of natural and other resources of rural areas and its specifics to create an integrated tourism product. This type of tourism is a relatively new phenomenon for the domestic tourism industry. However, rural tourism in Uzbekistan has deep historical roots, and the development of its types and subspecies is quite promising. Today CBT tourism is actively developing in the Republic of Uzbekistan. The number of family guest houses is growing and the range of offers for fans of outdoor recreation is expanding. The implementation of the rich potential of CBT tourism in Uzbekistan is facilitated by the activities of the European Union project "Strengthening rural and ecotourism through business associations for sustainable economic development in Central Asia." This project is being implemented in our country by the Association of private tourism agencies of Uzbekistan (APTA). As part of the implementation of this project in the regions of the country that have great potential for the development of CBT tourism, weekly training seminars are organized, which bring together entrepreneurs who have expressed interest and willingness to master a new type of business. This year, seminars have already taken place in Surkhandarya, Kashkadarya and Samarkand regions. Fergana region became the next point for the landing of the APTA trainers. Fergana Valley is a unique corner of Central Asia. The dense irrigation network has turned the valley into a fertile land. No wonder it is called the pearl of Uzbekistan. Almost all types of its landscapes are represented here. The amazing nature of the valley enchants with a variety of colors: from the dark gray sands of Central Fergana to emerald green cotton fields and bright green alpine meadows to peaks crowned with snow-white caps. The southern part of this valley is occupied by the Fergana region. The climate here is the mildest in Uzbekistan, the heat is relatively moderate in summer, and there are no severe winters. Therefore, the number of tourists who choose this region of the country as a destination is constantly growing. The Altyaryk district of the Fergana region also has its loyal admirers. Altyaryk region is one of the main suppliers of grapes from the Fergana Valley. Within its limits there are vast plantations covering large areas. The unique nature and rich traditions of viticulture attract tourists both from other regions of Uzbekistan and from foreign countries. In addition to vineyards, which have become the "calling card" of the Altyaryk region, sand therapy and therapeutic procedures on the sandy hills of the Zilski sands are of great interest to lovers of CBT tourism. In addition to the healing effect, travelers can admire the unique flora and fauna of the facility. There are a lot of interesting objects in this area that can attract the interest of tourists. It is for the owners of family guest houses located in the Altyaryk region that a training seminar was organized with the support of the State Committee for Tourism. The training program included topics necessary for the effective operation of guest houses. The participants of the event noted that CBT tourism has great potential, both in the field of tourism and in the development of small business. This type of tourism allows creating new jobs in rural areas, stimulates to some extent the development of rural infrastructure, raises and develops the cultural and educational level of the local population. The development of this type of tourism helps to strengthen the rural economy, creates additional jobs in the hospitality industry, reduces the outflow of the local population to cities, raises the cultural and intellectual level of villagers, and stimulates the production of organic food.
