From November 24 to November 27, an online webinar was held at the Silk Road International Tourism University as part of a new EC project “MOST - A model for sustainable tourism in Central Asia: Building Capacities, Creating Awareness, Introducing technology”. The event was organized by the Department for Tourism Development of the Samarkand Region, the Association of private tourism agencies of Uzbekistan (APTA) and the International University of Tourism "Silk Road", which is an associated partner of the project “MOST - A model for sustainable tourism in Central Asia: Building Capacities, Creating Awareness, Introducing technology”. For 4 days, the teaching staff, formed from competent specialists and experts from the countries of the European Union, through online training, made every effort to raise awareness of the training participants on environmental certification and the feasibility of introducing "green technologies". The industry specialists gained additional knowledge on the topics of environmental management in tourism enterprises. This means that the level of "sustainable tourism" and the degree of implementation of "green technologies" in the hotel business in the Republic of Uzbekistan will steadily increase.
