In an informal setting, tour operators, hoteliers and representatives of guest houses were able to directly tell the khokim of the Samarkand region and the heads of state institutions about the sore point.
The author of this project, the Association of private tourism agencies, has already held a similar meeting in the city of Tashkent. And as the results showed, the organizers say, the chosen format of interaction has demonstrated its high efficiency.
Having greeted the participants of the discussion platform, the head of the regional administration Erkinjon Turdimov acquainted them with the ongoing projects in the tourism industry.
A memorandum of cooperation was signed between the regional khokimiyat and the Association of private tourism agencies.
Representatives of travel companies, guest houses shared the problems that today negatively affect the development of this direction. The participants were interested in the timing of the reconstruction work on the city roads. They talked about the insufficient number of hotels, the obstacles created by the tourist police, the lack of a park of tourist buses, the streamlining of the activities of illegal immigrants in the hotel business. It was also noted that there is a shortage of middle-level personnel and the need to organize special courses for training specialists.
In the second part of the "APTA Networking Club" new projects were presented, focused on improving the service for tourists.
According to the participants, they received competent answers to all their questions and this meeting format is a platform for implementing projects at a new level.
