On July 29 of this year, within the framework of the European Union Program Switch Asia: under the project «Promoting Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy production in the Community - Based Tourism Sector in Central Asia», an online working meeting was held on the issue of conducting cascading training seminars for representatives of the CBT.
 
The organizers of the online meeting ACTED with the support of the Association of Private Tourism Agencies of Uzbekistan (APTA).
 
The meeting was attended by representatives of ACTED, APTA and representatives of CBT from Bukhara (family guest house "Koh-i-noor"), Samarkand (family guest house "Fayz"), Fergana (family guest house "Uvaysiy"), Tashkent region (family guest house "Kumushkon Saxovati") and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (Yurt camp), who took part in a study tour in Berlin (Germany) in July this year as part of the above European Union Program.
 
As a reminder, this study tour was organized for 15 representatives of the Central Asian CBT (five representatives of the CBT from Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan), the purpose of this study tour was to increase the awareness of micro, small and medium - sized enterprises (MSMEs) of СBT on sustainable consumption and production (SCP) practices, including the benefits of renewable energy/electricity (RES/EE) technologies, training of trainers (ToT), which will further promote and integrate SCP practices into everyday behavior by educating CBT providers about environmentally sound consumption practices and production.

Representatives of the CBT of Uzbekistan, trained in Germany, in August this year will hold 2-day training seminars for CBT representatives, each in the region. They will use the experience gained and share specific methods for implementing SCP practices and behaviors into the day-to-day operations of MSMEs and explain the specific benefits.
 
During the online meeting, organizational issues were discussed and a schedule for conducting training seminars was determined.
