APTA's new video promotes CBT tourism in Uzbekistan

Within the framework of the USAID Project "Future Growth Initiative (FGI)", the Association of Private Tourism Agencies of Uzbekistan (APTA) is successfully implementing the project "Development of CBT Tourism in Uzbekistan by Improving the Professional Competencies of Rural population." The project was implemented with the support of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
At the first stage, marketing studies of promising regions of Uzbekistan for the development of CBT tourism were carried out, as well as information meetings were organized in the regions of the country with those wishing to open a family guest house. For those wishing to open their own business in the hospitality industry, training seminars and trainings were organized.
Given the high interest of business circles and the high potential of tourism development in the Republic of Uzbekistan, the project organized 10 five-day (for owners of guest houses, as well as potential owners of guest houses) and 5 two-day (for participants in the CBT chain) training seminars in promising destinations of CBT tourism in Bukhara, Jizzakh and Samarkand regions, in which 308 participants took part.
Great attention was paid to the gender issue (62% of the participants were women) and the implementation of youth initiatives. The seminars were attended by 113 young people.
At the seminars, local residents were taught the basics of organizing guest houses, business management, marketing, basic forms of reporting, planning expenses and incomes. Also, the participants of the seminars developed new tourist routes, made a menu of national and European dishes. Thanks to the activities of the project, it was possible to improve the existing ones and create new jobs.
Within the framework of the project, it was possible to solve a number of problems and prepare a whole range of training modules, handouts and book materials:
1. Study guide "Rural tourism: from theory to practice"
2. Training modules "Organization of effective management of the family guest house" and "Organization of participants activities of the chain CBT"
3. Guesthouse Success Guide
4. Recommendations for the implementation of the “UZBEKISTAN. SAFE TRAVEL GUARANTEED "in family guest houses
5. Prepared advertising and handouts booklet - "Rest in guest houses in Uzbekistan"
APTA, in partnership with the National PR Center, prepared a video highlighting the activities carried out within the framework of the project. This visual product of the project team will be shown both on the screens of popular TV channels in Uzbekistan and through distribution in social networks.
