Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Development Aziz Abdukhakimov held a meeting of the Joint Collegium of the Cabinet of Ministers on Passenger Transport and Logistics. It was attended by members of the Joint Collegium for Passenger Transportation and Logistics, heads of relevant ministries, departments and local authorities.

The meeting discussed the implementation of the decrees of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 5611 of January 5, 2019 and No. 5781 of August 13, 2019 and the issues of the tasks set before the ministries and departments for the development of the passenger transport and logistics system, as well as other existing problems on transport and logistics issues and ways to solve them.

"The ongoing coronavirus pandemic has caused great damage to the transport and tourism sector around the world. The world community requires changes with the adoption of" new standards "for safety and convenience in the field of transport and tourism. And in our country, these areas also need to be updated and improved. in accordance with world requirements," Aziz Abdukhakimov said.

Within the framework of the event, reports and proposals of the Ministry of Transport, Uzbekistan Airports JSC, Uzbekistan Airways JSC, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were heard.

Today, Uzbekistan is gradually implementing comprehensive measures to develop tourism as one of the strategic sectors of the national economy. Over the past four years, more than 75 normative legal acts have been adopted in this area. Of these, 16 decrees and 14 resolutions of the President of Uzbekistan, more than 40 resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers were adopted. As a result of the adoption of these regulatory legal acts, work was done to improve the system of transport services for tourists, launch flights on new routes, attract foreign airlines, launch international flights to conservative airports, and reduce fuel prices.

In addition, in order to effectively use the potential of the republic in the field of aviation, the 1st International Aviation Forum was organized on February 19-20, 2020. The forum was attended by 91 exhibitors, 634 delegates, more than 180 companies from all over the world and more than 250 foreign guests from 35 countries. As part of the event, negotiations were held with more than 25 foreign airlines.

 

According to the decree of the President of Uzbekistan dated June 19, 2020 No. 4755 "On additional measures to develop the tourism sector in strict compliance with the requirements of an enhanced sanitary and epidemiological safety regime," from August 1 of this year, in accordance with international law at Andijan international airports, " Bukhara "and" Urgench "regime of" open skies "was introduced.

At present, repatriation flights are carried out to return citizens of Uzbekistan to our country. From February 2020 to October 17, 408 codeshare flights were carried out, 90,500 passengers were transported. In addition, from September 2020, regular flights to Istanbul, Frankfurt, Dubai, Sharjah, Seoul, New York, Minsk, Almaty and Bishkek will be resumed in full compliance with security requirements during the pandemic.

It should be noted that domestic flights from Tashkent to Nukus, Bukhara, Urgench and Termez are regular. In total, 86 joint flights were carried out on these routes in September and October 17, and 18,533 passengers were transported.

At the same time, a number of works are being carried out to identify the best names for the country's regional international airports. In particular, the Regulation on the mass selection of the best names for airports was developed and approved by the Joint Commission on Passenger and Logistics Issues.

The State Committee for Tourism Development jointly with the Ministry of Transport and Uzbekistan Airports JSC announced an open tender. The conditions of the competition are indicated on the websites https://uzbektourism.uz, https://mintrans.uz, https://uzbairports.uz.

Practical work is underway to create a tourist and transport corridor "Tourist Highway of Uzbekistan" (Khanabad-Moinak), projects are being developed to develop roadside infrastructure. Within the framework of these projects, the total area of ​​1,643 km of the highway will be covered and 64 projects worth 525.0 billion soums will be implemented. As a result, 2,800 new jobs are expected to be created.

In 2019, a total of 6 billion 25 million passengers were transported by all modes of transport, which was 101.2 percent compared to last year.
