Urgench and Fergana will be connected by a flight
Uzbekistan Airways launches regular flights between Urgench and Fergana. This is the first flight between small cities of Uzbekistan in many years. Now all domestic flights are operated from Tashkent.
Uzbekistan Airways has announced the opening of regular flights between Urgench and Fergana.
The first flights will be operated on February 3 and 6, from February 11, flights will be operated regularly on Thursdays and Saturdays.
The airline informed Gazeta.uz that the flights will be carried out on A320 planes.
Plans to open flights between the cities of the Fergana Valley and the historical cities of Uzbekistan with the aim of developing tourism were announced in the spring of 2020, before the introduction of large-scale restrictions in the country due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Currently, all domestic flights are operated only from Tashkent. Previously, many cities in Uzbekistan were connected by regular air routes.
At the beginning of last year, the state-owned airline Humo Air was created, which was supposed to establish regular flights within the country at low rates. It received 43 AN-2 aircraft.
