During the holidays, non-working days will be at least three

From now on, at least three non-working days will be established during the celebration of Navruz, Independence Day, New Year, Ramadan Khayit and Kurban Khayit at the expense of additional and transferred non-working days. A family travel vacation system is also being introduced.

During the celebration of the Navruz holiday, the Independence Day and the New Year, as well as the religious holidays Ramazan Hayit (Iid al-Fitr) and Kurban Hayit (Iid al-Adha), no less than three non-working days will henceforth be established. They will come at the cost of additional and postponed days off. The new order was approved by the decree of the President of Uzbekistan on the development of domestic and pilgrim tourism dated February 9.

The decree also provides for the introduction of a family travel vacation system with a duration of at least five working days. It includes travel with parents, relatives, seniors and mentors. Family Travel Leave will be provided on the basis of annual basic leave with the consent of the employer and in accordance with collective agreements.

By the decree, information aimed at promoting tourist sites in Uzbekistan, familiarizing citizens with objects of "rich natural, cultural and historical heritage" and promoting domestic tourism (for non-commercial purposes) is equated to "information on matters of spirituality and enlightenment."

From March 1, officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Karakalpakstan, khokims of regions, cities and districts, while fulfilling the forecast indicators for organizing the flow of domestic tourism and attracting foreign tourists, can receive bonuses. Disciplinary action may be taken against them if they do not meet the forecasted targets.

Earlier, we wrote about the extension from March 1 to citizens of Uzbekistan and stateless persons permanently residing in Uzbekistan, a tourist (hotel) fee for each day of stay in accommodation facilities. Now this fee is paid only by foreign tourists.
