Guides and tour guides were congratulated in Tashkent

Every year, on February 21, the world celebrates International Tourist Guide Day. The festival was founded by the World Federation of Guides' Associations (WFTGA), with over 2 million members from 70 countries.
In honor of this event, a solemn event was held at the “Courtyard by Marriott Tashkent” hotel in the capital of Uzbekistan, which was attended by representatives of the State Committee for Tourism Development, tour operators, guides, tour guides and media representatives.
The event was opened by the Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development Aziz Abdukhakimov.
The Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism noted the important role and importance of the activities of guides and tour guides in the development of the tourism industry.
Within the framework of the event, a discussion of such issues as self-employment, new opportunities and an increase in professional skills, an increase in interest in the profession took place.
The situation with the coronavirus pandemic has negatively affected the activities of guides around the world, but many of them are still trying to be self-employed today. Currently, 15 guides work as teachers in educational institutions under the State Committee for Tourism Development - Samarkand College of Tourism and Service, Bukhara College of Tourism, Khiva College of Tourism and Service, Margilan College of Tourism and Service, Bostanlyk College of Tourism and Service, Tashkent College of Tourism and service.
