Driveway at Tashkent International Airport opened on July 10th

In order to improve the quality of passenger service when departing from the capital's airport, the Uzbekistan Airports Joint Stock Company has opened the direct driveway to the departure hall of the Tashkent-2 terminal.

Vehicle traffic via the driveway to the departure hall will begin in test operation on July 10, 2021.

Taking into account that the area of the driveway (the total length of the platform is 110 meters, the width is 9.5 meters) does not allow vehicles to drive up, it is planned for the test period to open the driveway to the departure terminal for licensed taxi vehicles that have agreements with Tashkent International Airport, for tourist buses and minibuses with a permit from the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan, for vehicles of foreign delegations that operate through the VIP and Business Lounge according to the approved travel rules of the Tashkent International Airlines Terminal 2.

The access to the overpass, the stay on the driveway and the exit are controlled.

The entrance is equipped with two automatic barriers (for each lane), which open automatically when there are free spaces. A light board provides information about the presence or absence of free spaces. A vehicle scanner (for each lane) is used to identify foreign bodies and an automatic control observation point for the duty officer. Intelligent video surveillance cameras are installed along the entire length of the overpass, making it possible to recognize vehicle numbers, determine their type and monitor compliance with traffic regulations.

There are also plans to introduce a modern, automated parking system on the forecourt that uses technology to recognize license plates and uses automated terminals to pay for parking in cash and without cash.

Be aware that Tashkent International Airport is undergoing major changes. These included the renovation of the building of the international terminal and the station square to handle up to 1200 passengers during rush hour, the construction of a freight terminal with an area of 7,500 square meters that can handle at least 70,000 tons of freight per year and 200-220 tons Freight per day is designed, an administration building for the airport situation center and parking spaces for vehicles. In addition, an overhaul of the artificial runway, taxiways and apron of the country's main airport will be carried out.
