In 2021-2023, it is planned to implement 90 projects in the tourism sector in Tashkent, including 66 hotels, 12 shopping and entertainment centers and 9 parks. More than 9.4 trillion soums will be allocated for this, of which almost $ 740 million are foreign investments, the capital's Department for Tourism Development said.

The press service of the Department for Tourism Development of Tashkent reported on investment projects in the tourism sector planned for 2021-2023.

According to the department, in the capital within three years, local and foreign entrepreneurs will invest a total of 9.442 trillion Sum, of which about $ 739.5 million are foreign investments.

It is planned to implement 90 projects, of which 66 projects will comprise hotels (3596 rooms, 7050 beds), 12 shopping and entertainment centers, 9 parks and 3 artisan centers. At the same time, 6102 new jobs are expected to be created.

At this stage, a list of projects has been formed and monitoring is underway, the press service of the department noted.

The investment program of Uzbekistan for 2021-2023 also includes several dozen projects for the construction of hotels.

According to the State Committee for Tourism, the occupancy rate of accommodation facilities in Tashkent averaged 85.7%. During the peak tourist season, hotels cannot cope with the flow of guests. In accordance with the concept of tourism development, in Tashkent by the end of 2021, about 500 hotels with 13.5 thousand rooms for 30 thousand beds should function.
