The leadership of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports has been appointed

The heads of the newly formed Ministry of Tourism and Sports have been appointed: Minister - Aziz Abdukhakimov, First Deputy - Ulugbek Azamov, deputies - Abdulaziz Akkulov, Avazjon Karimov and Zarif Kazakov.

The Ministry of Tourism and Sports, formed recently by a presidential decree, has appointed a minister and his deputies, the press service of the ministry said.

Aziz Abdukakharovich Abdukhakimov (born 1974), who worked as Deputy Prime Minister - Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism, became Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Tourism and Sports. He is a graduate of the Tashkent State Economic University and the Japanese Hitotsubashi University. In addition to the State Committee for Tourism (he has been in charge since August 2017), he previously headed the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population (later transformed into the Ministry of Labor, then into the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations).

Ulugbek Akhmedovich Azamov (born in 1981), who has worked as Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism since September 2019, became First Deputy Minister of Tourism and Sports. He graduated from the University of Surrey (UK) with a degree in International Tourism and Hospitality Management in 2002. Previously, he worked as a trade and economic adviser at the Uzbek Embassy in Turkey.

Abdulaziz Urolboevich Akkulov (born in 1985), who has worked as First Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism since February 2020, was appointed Deputy Minister of Tourism and Sports. He graduated from the Tashkent State Economic University with a degree in International Tourism Management. Since 2006 he has worked in the State Committee for Tourism in various positions.

Avazjon Kudratillaevich Karimov (born in 1983), who has worked as Deputy Minister of Physical Culture and Sports since October 2020, was appointed Deputy Minister of Tourism and Sports. Graduated from the Tashkent State Economic University and the Uzbek State Institute of Physical Culture. He began his career in 2006 as Deputy Chairman of the Karate Federation of Uzbekistan. In 2007-2011, he headed the Tashkent branch of the federation, and since 2011 held the post of deputy chairman of the Badminton Federation.

In 2017-2019, he was the director of the Chirchik Specialized Boarding School of the Olympic Reserve. Since September 2019, he headed the Republican College of the Olympic Reserve.

Zarif Ochilovich Kazakov also became Deputy Minister of Tourism and Sports. In 2016, he was listed as the head of the department of the main department for financing the social sphere and science of the Ministry of Finance.

First Deputy Minister of Physical Culture and Sports Ravshan Irmatov, Deputy Minister Nadir Muratov and Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Fakhriddin Davrukov were relieved of their posts due to their transfer to another job.
