In Dushanbe, on March 17-18 was held a working meeting of the Steering Committee of the project "Model for Sustainable Tourism in Central Asia: Building Capacities, Creating Awareness, Introducing technology”, implemented within the framework of the European Union's "Switch Asia" initiative.

 

The meeting was attended by project partners from the European Union countries, as well as representatives of tourism associations from Central Asian countries: Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Representatives of the APTA in an online format made a report on the work done and the results achieved within the framework of the project designed to increase the tourism potential of the countries of the Central Asian region.

 

The participants also discussed the plans and objectives of the project for 2022, the strategic goal of which is to increase environmental awareness and introduce appropriate practices and technologies into the tourism business of Central Asian countries.
