APTА experts study the potential of CBT tourism in Fergana region

On June 15 this year, the visit of a working group consisting of representatives of the Association of Private Tourism Agencies of Uzbekistan (APTА) to the Fergana region began.
 
The visit of the APTA working group was organized within the framework of the project «Silk Road CBT Initiative: Connecting Central Asian Community-Based Tourism and European Markets» of the European Union Program «Central Asia Invest», in order to explore the possibilities of the tourism potential of the area in the direction of CBT-tourism.
 
As part of the visit, on the first day, the working group met with representatives of the Main Department of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of the Fergana region, the assistant hоkim for tourism development of the Fergana region, and also visited the tourist village of Avval.
 
Avval is a village, an ancient urban-type settlement, which is located in the Fergana district of the Fergana region. Here, APTA experts met with local entrepreneurs, tourists who are currently arriving in the ancient village, visited guest houses. During the trip, the tourism potential of mahallas was studied: attractions that can be included in the development of the territory, infrastructure, the potential of local entrepreneurs to open a family guest house.
 
 
On June 16, experts made trips to the village of Vodil and the city of Rishtan, where meetings with local entrepreneurs were also held, the potential of local entrepreneurs to open a family guest house was studied, and marketing research was carried out on the possibilities of the area in the direction of CBT.
Based on the results of the working trip, these studies will be used to develop programs for the development of the area in the format of CBT tourism.
