Eco-certification: A training seminar was held for representatives of MSMEs in the tourism sector
On November 14-15 this year, in the Chirchik State Pedagogical Institute hosted a training seminar "Methods of sustainable tourism and eco-certification in the tourism sector" for representatives of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the tourism sector.
The training seminar was organized by ACTED with the support of the Association of Private Tourism Agencies of Uzbekistan within the framework of the Project “Promoting Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy production in the Community-Based Tourism Sector in Central Asia” of the European Union Program “Switch Asia”.
Trainer: expert in the field of standardization, certification/eco-certification - Gairat Gaziev.
During the training, the participants discussed such topics as:
- What is "sustainability", sustainable production and consumption and the role of green procurement;
- Key concepts of sustainable production;
- The role and place in the sustainable development of management systems, including environmental management systems in world practice;
- Policy in the field of Environmental certification in the tourism sector in Uzbekistan;
- Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Hotel Carbon Measurement (HCMI) initiatives; -Monitoring, measurement, analysis and evaluation, etc.
As a result of the training seminar, the participants were awarded certificates.
