There are many potential opportunities for the development of Uzbek-Belarusian cooperation in the tourism sector

On February 28, 2024, a Workshop: “Characteristics of a tourism destination of the Republic of Belarus” was held in Tashkent at the Hilton Tashkent City Hotel. After the completion of the official part, a press conference was conducted for media representatives of Uzbekistan, at which a representative of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus, leaders of the Republican Union of Tourism Industry of the Republic of Belarus, the Association of Private Tourism Agencies of Uzbekistan (APTA) and ASIA LUXE answered questions from journalists.

In particular, the participants of the press conference noted that cooperation between APTA and the Republican Union of Tourism Industry of the Republic of Belarus began in 2017. Since 2022, with many thanks to the proactive position of the leadership of the two countries, the cooperation has entered an active phase.

The activity of the two business associations is moving in two directions. Practical agreements have already been reached on intensifying interaction in the field of tourism, specific projects and events have been outlined.

In April, a delegation from Uzbekistan will visit a tourism exhibition and congress in Minsk.
In October, the exhibition “Tashkent Travel Mart-2024” will take place in B2B format; a separate exposition of Belarusian partners is planned there.
In November, it is planned to hold a Road-show in several cities of Belarus to promote tourism products of Uzbekistan.

The associations also noted that it is important to exchange experience in the field of certification, attestation, classification of quality standards of tourism services between countries in terms of accommodation facilities, tour transport, organizing excursions, as well as conditions for the development of business tourism.
In addition, it is planned to organize media tours for media representatives of our countries to Uzbekistan and the Republic of Belarus, and also provide for the promotion of tourism products through digital tools.

There are many potential opportunities for the development of Uzbek-Belarusian cooperation in the tourism sector and it is important to use this positive impulse with maximum effect.
