Ukraine is interested in restoring flights with Uzbekistan
Ukraine is interested in the "early restoration" of air communication with Uzbekistan with a frequency of flights seven times a week for each side. Countries are preparing for the first meeting of the intergovernmental commission since 2007, scheduled for April.
First Deputy Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Alisher Abdualiev and Deputy Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleg Yushchenko discussed the resumption of flights between the countries.
The meeting was held on February 21 at the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine, the press service of the department reported.
Oleg Yushchenko noted that Ukraine's policy in the field of air transport is aimed at liberalizing the air transportation market with partner countries, including Uzbekistan.
“Ukraine is interested in the soonest restoration of regular flights between Ukraine and Uzbekistan with a frequency of flights 7 times a week for each side within the framework of the current agreement between Ukraine and Uzbekistan on air traffic and cooperation in the field of air transport,” said Oleg Yushchenko.
"Alisher Abdualiev noted the importance of further development of bilateral cooperation in the field of transport infrastructure and expressed hope for the soonest restoration of air communication between Ukraine and Uzbekistan," the message says.

As the press service of the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan later reported, during the visit of the Uzbek delegation to Kiev, the resumption of the Tashkent-Kharkov-Tashkent railway connection was discussed.
Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture, Trade Representative of Ukraine Taras Kachka, following a meeting with Alisher Abdualiev, said that a meeting of the Uzbek-Ukrainian intergovernmental commission will be held in Tashkent on April 9-10. The previous meeting of the intergovernmental commission was held in 2007 in Kiev.
Regular flights from Tashkent to Kiev were suspended in 2015 due to the lack of agreements between the aviation authorities of the two countries. Ukraine International Airlines also suspended flights in this direction.
From October 5, it was planned to launch direct charter flights from Tashkent to Kiev and back, however, it was not possible to resume air traffic.
