Successful completion of the training seminars on sustainable tourism programs

On May 3 this year, the Hampton by Hilton Tashkent hotel hosted a ceremonial awarding of certificates to participants of training seminars on sustainable tourism programs “Good Travel Seal” and “Travelife”. The event was organized by the Association of Private Tourism Agencies of Uzbekistan (APTA) with the support of USAID's Future Growth Initiative project.

Training seminars conducted by APTA together with invited European experts included:
- 3 days training program of consultants - APTA experts on the "Good Travel Seal" program. The participants received the knowledge necessary to conduct audits and prepare for certification of representatives of the tourism industry.
- 3 days training program of representatives of the hotel sector of Uzbekistan on the same program. The program included theoretical training and practical field trips aimed at studying and implementing best practices of sustainable tourism in the hotel sector.
- 2 days training program for tour operators on the “Travelife” program, which promotes higher standards of sustainability in the activities of travel agencies.

Upon completion of the training, the participants not only received certificates confirming their new competencies, but also started practical application of the acquired knowledge. APTA plans to continue supporting the program participants by providing individual consultations and assistance in preparation for certification audits.

These training events are part of a broader strategy to promote sustainable tourism in Uzbekistan, aimed at improving the quality of tourism services and increasing competitiveness in the country's tourism sector.

The event emphasized the importance of joint efforts in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and was a landmark event for the tourism industry as a whole, confirming Uzbekistan's commitment to innovation and global standards in tourism.
