Training on digital hospitality: Training on SMM promotion for family guesthouses took place in Khiva
On June 6-7, a seminar on "Hospitality in the Digital World: Training on Effective SMM Promotion for Family Guest Houses” was held in the historic city of Khiva (Khorezm region). The event was attended by 18 representatives of family guest houses (CBT), including three participants from the Republic of Karakalpakstan and 15 participants from Khorezm region.
The seminar was aimed at training representatives of family guesthouses on how to effectively promote their services in the digital space. The participants gained valuable knowledge and practical skills that will help them use social media to attract tourists and improve the quality of service.
In particular, the trainees were able to develop their own marketing materials and promotion strategies.
The seminars were held within the framework of USAID's Future Growth Initiative project. The event was organized by the Association of Private Tourism Agencies of Uzbekistan (APTA) with the support of the Committee for Tourism Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Department of Tourism Development of Khorezm Region.
The venue of the seminar was chosen not by chance. Khiva, with its rich history and cultural heritage, has been announced as a tourist city of the Islamic world in 2024. From May 31 to June 2, Khiva hosted international events - the XII session of tourism ministers of the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). These events emphasized the importance of the city in the international tourism arena and made it an ideal venue for training seminars.
All participants of the seminar successfully completed the training and expressed their gratitude to the organizers for the opportunity.
