APTA and ATTA Meeting: New Prospects for Adventure Tourism Development in Uzbekistan

The Tashkent office of the Association of Private Tourism Agencies of Uzbekistan (APTA) hosted a working meeting with representatives of the Adventure Tourism Trade Association (ATTA) under the USAID BSP Project. This event was an important step towards the development of adventure tourism in Uzbekistan.

ATTA representatives shared relevant information on current trends and future directions in adventure tourism. In particular, they presented their educational project, including training programs, trainings, sessions and mentoring for representatives of tourism business. This project aims to develop adventure tourism in the country.

The meeting also discussed the improvement of conditions for active recreation of tourists in rural and mountainous areas. Special attention was paid to the development and promotion of mountain tourism and attracting the younger generation to vacation in rural areas. These measures will help not only to improve tourism infrastructure, but also to increase interest in tourism among young people.

The participants of the meeting expressed their willingness and readiness to implement joint projects aimed at improving tourism infrastructure and service quality.
The meeting of APTA and ATTA showed that Uzbekistan has a huge potential for the development of adventure tourism. Introduction of educational programs, improvement of infrastructure and certification on sustainable tourism will help to attract more tourists and bring the Uzbek tourism business to a new level.
