New level of hospitality: Results of reclassification of family guesthouses in Khiva
Specialists of the Association of Private Tourism Agencies of Uzbekistan (APTA) reclassified family guesthouses in Khiva, which is an important step in improving the quality of services and competitiveness of tourism infrastructure in the region.
As part of this initiative, three family guesthouses successfully passed the reclassification process:
✅“Said Maxsum”: In 2023, this family guesthouse had a two-star rating, but after reclassification, it rose to the next level by receiving a third star.
✅“Xiva Boyjon Ota”: Still recently carrying two stars, this hospitality house is rated three stars, emphasizing its growth in service quality.
✅ “Khiva Polvonnazir”: From a one-star beginner to a three-star family guesthouse, symbolizing its commitment to excellence.
The reclassification was carried out under The USAID Future Growth Initiative, with the support of the Regional Tourism Development Authority of Khorezm Province. The reclassification aims to improve the quality of tourism services and hospitality development in the region, which in turn contributes to increased tourist flow and improved economic performance.
The results achieved in Khiva open new opportunities for similar projects in other cities of Uzbekistan. The nearest plans include the classification of family guesthouses in the Tashkent region, as well as reclassification in the city of Samarkand. These steps contribute to the creation of more attractive conditions for foreign and domestic tourists, as well as raise the prestige of Uzbekistan as a travel destination.
