Classification of family guesthouses in Tashkent region

Specialists of Association of Private Tourism Agencies of Uzbekistan (APTA) have completed classification of 19 family guesthouses located in Tashkent region.
This project, implemented with the support of the Regional Department for Tourism Development of Tashkent Region, is aimed at improving the quality of services, competitiveness and development of tourism infrastructure in the region and is being implemented under The USAID Future Growth Initiative.
Classification of family guest houses allows guests to orient themselves in the level of services offered, and also contributes to strengthening the position of house owners in the tourism market. It is important to note that classification is not just an assessment of accommodation conditions, but also an opportunity for owners to develop their business, improve service standards and attract more tourists.
Results of the classification
Ertoshsoy Tourist Village ( Akhangaran district)
10 family guesthouses were classified in Ertoshsoy tourist village. Despite the active participation and training of the owners, none of the houses received a star. This emphasizes the need to further raise standards and improve infrastructure to reach an appropriate star-rated level.
Kumushkan Tourist Village (Parkent district)
Classification took place in three family guesthouses located in the tourist village of Kumushkan. Two of the three houses received stars:
- One house was awarded one star.
- The other house was awarded two stars, demonstrating a good level of service and comfort.

Importance of the project
Classification of family guesthouses is an important step towards the development of domestic and international tourism in Uzbekistan. This process not only stimulates the improvement of accommodation conditions, but also contributes to the creation of a positive image of the region as a tourist destination.
The USAID Future Growth Initiative provides significant support to this initiative by helping family guesthouse owners modernize their facilities and adapt them to modern tourist requirements.
