Within the framework of the European Union project, monitoring of the installation of "smart" meters in accommodation facilities and travel companies was carried out
From 12 to 18 December this year, within the framework of the European Union's MOST project: "Model for sustainable tourism in Central Asia: capacity building, awareness raising, Introducing technology ", an expert from Greece, Nikos Sakkas, monitored and evaluated the installation of "smart" sensors / ambient meters in accommodation facilities and travel companies - the Hotel Carbon Change Initiative (HCMI).
HCMI is a methodology and tools developed by the International Tourism Partnership (ITP) and the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) in partnership with KPMG and 23 international hotel companies. HCMI applies the principles of the Corporate Greenhouse Gas (GHG) protocol standard at the hotel level. The HCMI initiative allows hotels to measure and report carbon emissions in a consistent way.
Installation of "smart" sensors/ ambient meters Shelly 3EM (professional three-phase electricity meter) and Shelly H&T (humidity and temperature sensor with Wi-Fi) in accommodation facilities and travel companies was carried out by the Association of Private Tourism Agencies of Uzbekistan (APTA) as part of the above project. The installation of these counters was carried out free of charge, at the request of the heads of accommodation facilities and travel companies.
Smart meters and ambient sensors have been installed:
- in Artist Hotel, Sapiens Hotel, SAPPHIRE HOTEL, Home hotel, The World Orzu Hotel, Navruz Hotel, Khan Orda, Green hotel, ART HOSTEL, The Mirage Hotel and Sayyoh Hotel;
- in family guest houses Kumushkan and Koh-i-noor;
- travel companies Avrud Travel and Canaan Travel.

As a result of the monitoring, a positive assessment was given to the work of the APTA on the installation of "smart" meters within the framework of the above project, as well as an increase in the popularity of "green" technologies and interest in their implementation among the heads of accommodation facilities and travel companies.
For reference: Shelly 3EM is a professional three-phase electricity meter. Shelly 3EM can calculate two-way consumption: produced and used energy for each of the three phases. The device can be configured to measure three separate points of a single-phase electrical system and measure each one separately. Shelly H&T - Wi-Fi humidity and temperature sensor. Shelly H&T has built-in humidity and temperature modules and is the world's first Wi-Fi humidity and temperature sensor with over 1 year battery life. Shelly H&T helps track changes in humidity and temperature, avoiding dryness and maintaining comfortable conditions in the accommodation.
