The potential of CBT tourism in the Fergana region was studied

From June 15 to June 18 of this year, a working group consisting of representatives of the Association of Private Tourism Agencies of Uzbekistan (APTA) studied the potential of CBT tourism in the Fergana region.

The visit of the APTA working group was organized within the framework of the project «Silk Road CBT Initiative: Connecting Central Asian Community-Based Tourism and European Markets» of the European Union Program «Central Asia Invest V», in order to explore the possibilities of the tourism potential of the area in the direction of CBT-tourism.
During the visit, the working group met with representatives of the Main Department of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of the Fergana region, assistant hokim for tourism development of the Fergana region.

During a 4-day visit, APTA experts visited the villages of Avval and Vodil, located in the Fergana district of the Fergana region, Rishtan, Satkak village. Here, APTA experts met with local entrepreneurs, tourists who are currently staying in the above locations, visited guest houses. During the trip, the tourism potential of mahallas was studied: attractions that can be included in the development of the territory, infrastructure, the potential of local entrepreneurs to open a family guest house.

Also during the visit, the experts visited the Museum of History in the Fergana region, agricultural complexes, made trip to the village of Chimyon, known for its healing mineral springs.

During the working trip, a complex of marketing studies of the possibilities of the area in the direction of the CBT was carried out. These studies will be used to develop programs for the development of the area in the format of CBT tourism.
