Fergana hosted a seminar for the CBT Destination Development Working Group

July 13-15 this year in Fergana at the «Terra Nova» hotel within the framework of the «Silk Road CBT Initiative: Connecting Central Asian Community-Based Tourism and European Markets» of the European Union Program «Central Asia Invest V» hosted a 3-day workshop for the Community Based Tourism (CBT) Destination Development Working Group.
 
The seminar was organized by the Association of Private Tourism Agencies of Uzbekistan (APTA) with the support of the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Administration of the Ferghana Region.

The seminar was attended by representatives of the Main Department of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of the Ferghana Region, the Department of Ecology and Environmental Protection of the Ferghana Region, the Department of Forestry of the Ferghana Region, the administrations of the Fergana and Rishtan regions, the College of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of Margilan, as well as representatives of the tourism industry (CBT representatives, tour operators), guides and artisans.
 
Within the framework of the 3-day seminar, the participants were presented with presentations «APTA» and «Goals of the EU project and the objectives of this event for the development of CBT», such topics as: Basic knowledge about CBT, Branding, an example of successful CBT (on the experience of Kyrgyzstan), CBT in the Fergana region: features and prerequisites, tasks for the development of CBT in the Fergana region.
During the seminar, discussions were held on the development of their own tourism product, and participants' proposals for the development of CBT were considered.
 
As a result of the seminar, on July 15, final consultations were held with representatives of the Main Department of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of the Fergana region.
